What we really need is a closed coarse for motorcycle training and accident avoidence, emergency stops ect.I feel that would lower the stats and give people a safe place to explore the potential of these bikes and themselves. - zx14nothandgun

Hey, it's not that hard to figure this stuff out. Nobody cares if piles of superbikes crash and kill their youthful drivers, but it makes insurance costs for the rest of us go up. That's the big beef with high-powered bikes with inexperienced riders. Scaling the insurance rates will adjust the death rates. It works - and the result should be an opening for safe riders to find cool bikes with cheap insurance rates.

However, it only works part way. I'm an experienced, safe rider and insurance only costs me $200/year but the catch is the bike must be less than 400cc. But there aren't any in Canada. Cool, fast 400cc sportbikes are available everywhere else in the world, but not in Canada. So riders are left with choosing between a scooter or a Hayabusa. Is that dumb, or what? - JJ Joseph
