We are very excited to say that the September 2008 issue of Canada's most exciting motorcycle magazine will shortly be mailed to newsstands and our subscribers. On the cover we have a bit of a teaser. Do you really want Harley-Davidson's new hotrod XR1200? Well unfortunately you'll have to go to England to buy one because it is a Europe only model ... and you thought that was only the case for Renaults and Peugots (anyone know where you can pick up a good LeCar these days?). But this version of the Sportster is too good to keep from us forever. Let's all close our eyes and wish really hard...
For those of you who have been reading us for years know we have never been fond of gratuitous shots of women in bikinis (or men in thongs) but apparently you can not avoid either at Port Dover's Friday the 13th. Our contributor Jacque Walters was on hand to experience the whackiness as the event tries to create a Guiness world record for the most bikes in one town for one day on a Friday in June or perhaps it was the world record for men in thongs on a Friday in one town in June - with any luck that record will remain at one. Speaking of things European, we feature the Ducati Hypermotard. This sleek and sexy redhead was built with only one purpose in mind- going around corners as fast as possible which is why we also profile the 2008 Pike's Peak race where the Hypermotard proved that it isn't just a pretty face but a serious road racing competitor. We have a couple of Suzukis in the issue and they are about as polar opposite as one manufacturer could build. On one hand we have the C50T - a mild mannered and pleasant middleweight cruiser. On the other hand we have the B-King which is about as mild mannered as that chef on tv who is continuously swearing at the other cooks and telling them the vichyssoise is too hot before dropping it on the floor to cool. To wrap up the issue our English Speaking columnist takes to the road aboard his Laverda to visit and soak in the hotsprings of BC. At no time did he ever wear a thong.
