cb_258_cover.jpg2010 is upon us! The Jan/Feb 2010 issue that is. Now available on newsstands is Canada’s most dichotomous motorcycle magazine!

On the cover is the BMW S1000RR. It is unlike any BMW you have seen before as the German manufacturer takes square aim at the Japanese litre class bikes not only in power and configuration but also, oddly enough, the same price range. Technically it is the toughest and most challenging segment of the market and coming out of the box it had to be right. We will let you know if BMW succeeded. If you have a GS in the garage that doesn’t do track days, a LT that that won’t scrape the pegs, the S1000RR is the answer to the question you may have been asking yourself. It’s a BMW that pushes out almost 200hp. It ought to keep the knee-dragger in you satisfied.

While we are on the subject of horsepower, our next feature is the Kawasaki Concours 14. It may seem that the Concours has only been on the market for two years. It has. The problem was all that horsepower was causing a bit of a heat problem. While addressing that situation, Kawasaki decided to do a few other things to make this big sport touring bike a better mount.

Next we have a couple of pictorial features at opposite ends of the spectrum. If you like dogs wearing helmets and sunglasses - “Dogs Best Friend” is just the story for you. Some people like to ride alone, some people like to ride with their significant other and some people like to take their dog along. It is understandable, who else are you going to play poker with sitting at the picnic table? The other story is about a very unusual museum one of our readers came across while in Germany. There is not a dog in sight but there are a lot of very unusual and rare motorcycles.

Our touring story in this issue is entitled “The Valley of the Omo” and follows a Canadian volunteer as he rides around Ethiopia . Its a good one.
